Who’d have ever thought that this could be?
True that he’s no Prince Charming
But there’s something in him that I simply didn’t see

Thumper: He doesn’t walk very good, does he? Mrs. Rabbit: Thumper! Thumper: Yes, mama? Mrs. Rabbit: What did your father tell you this morning? Thumper: [clears throat] If you can’t say something nice… don’t say nothing at all.

Bambi (1942)
Day 07 — Your favorite sidekick.

Mufasa: A king’s time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. One day, Simba, the sun will set on my time here, and will rise with you as the new king.

King Hubert: Nowadays I’m still the king, and I command you to come to your senses! Prince Phillip: [mounting his horse] And marry the girl I love. King Hubert: Exactly! Prince Phillip: [riding off] Goodbye, father! King Hubert: Goodbye, father. Marry the girl you…No, no! No, no, Phillip! Stop! Come back!

Sleeping Beauty (1959)
Day 04 — Your favorite prince. I feel like I have to explain this one because Sleeping Beauty isn’t usually a huge favorite, but Prince Philip is such a memorable character even with the limited screen time he’s given. The boy dances, sings, and actually has a sense of humor. Not to mention the guy takes down a mothertrucking dragon in pursuit of the girl he loves. He doesn’t get nearly enough credit.

What would I give if I could live out of these waters? What would I pay to spend a day warm on the sand?Bet’cha on land they understandThat they don’t reprimand their daughtersProper women sick of swimmin’Ready to stand

The Little Mermaid (1989)
Day 03 — Your favorite heroine. This was probably my favorite movie around the age of seven. I had the CD-ROM game with sing-a-long songs and coloring pages, and I had a mermaid Barbie doll even though I wasn’t into Barbies. I identified with her at that age when I was just beginning to resent all the rules and constraints placed on my seven-year-old self—a phase I grew out of. But I still love this movie, and the artwork is undeniably gorgeous.
